The Red Hummingbird is so typically Melbourne.  You would walk straight past the unobtrusive doorway on Russell Street in the CBD if you did not know what was behind.  For that you have to look up to the neon signs that indicates that the venue is there and the sounds drifting down from the rooftop bar.

Heading up the steps you’ll find the first level with its own bar, small dance floor and raised stage for the DJ booth. Behind the bar is an office and in front a large private booth.  Heading past the DJ it is up another flight of steps and out on to the rooftop that is somewhere in between urban and elegant. Rustic, with lots of wooden details and steel bar stools, but also chic with swing chairs and ample heaters. Another bar here caters for those upstairs and there is a small open plan commercial kitchen equipped to produce late night fast food.

Red Hummingbird has a late night on premises licence until 3am with a capacity of 150.  Weekly rent comes in at just under $2000 a week and that includes GST. There are seven years remaining on this present lease 2+5 with the landlord prepared to add another five year term on transfer.  All fixtures and fitting are included in the sale and there are no lease equipment or suppler contracts in place.

The venue is presently run under complete management and pulls in on average $25,000 a week. But it could do so much more if taken over and run by a dynamic owner operator.  The venue is large enough to make the place commercially viable yet still small enough to be classified as a boutique venue.  The standard range of financial information is available and so the vendors are looking for offers in the region of $395,000 for this exclusively listed venue.

This venue is now UNDER OFFER.
