The Thornbury Local has been established for 11 years and is a local favourite amongst all of the restaurants, bars & pubs on High St in Thornbury. The venue is dedicated to live entertainment, fostering a 'come one, come all' mentality and is just a nice place to go to, for food, drink and entertainment.
To the front of the venue is foot path trading for six. Then heading inside to the right a nice long bar and throughout eclectic seating for all types. At the back of the venue, behind the bar is the stage for performances suiting bands, comedy and even poetry at times. Outside to the rear of the stage is a small courtyard. Off this is a space/room that has many uses but is at present being used as a painters studio. There is a also a large garage with plenty of storage and rear access to the lane-way. Upstairs you’ll find the private function room in a very funky retro style that has its own bar and a balcony looking out over the city. The small kitchen is based upstairs behind the bar.
The Thornbury Local has a late night on premises license until 3am with a capacity of 135. Rent is $800 a week inc. GST which for this part of the city and size of venue is incredibly low. There are twelve years left on the lease made up of 2x5x5. All fixtures and fittings are include in the sale (except for Darth Vader and a Unicorn). What is a rare is that all the sound equipment is included too.
This is a fantastic venue for those that love live music and want to be part of the great Melbourne scene, really suiting an owner operator that can give their all to the venue. The Thornbury Local has so much to offer so the vendors are looking for an offer in the region of $200,000 for this exclusively listed venue.
This venue is now SOLD.
